By Nicholas Perez

Rating: PG-13

Genre: Action/Fantasy

Synopsis: Having reclaimed Erebor and a vast treasure from the dragon Smaug, Thorin Oakenshield sacrifices friendship and honor to horde the treasure, despite Smaug’s fiery wrath and Bilbo’s desperate attempts to make him see reason. Meanwhile, Sauron sends forth legions of Orcs in a sneak attack upon the Lonely Mountain. As the ultimate fate of Middle Earth hangs in the balance, the races of Men, Elves and Dwarves must decide whether to unite or die.

Review: As a big fan of the Hobbit/Lord of The Rings films I believed that this movie was amazing! I got a chance to see it in High Frame Rate at 60 FPS (Frames Per Second) and boy did it look stellar. The movie to be honest was tad boring in some parts but it would then be followed by an intense action scene. I think that this movie deserves an oscar nomination for special effects because everything looked so real, especially in 3D. The acting was superb as always and the storyline was great.

Although I know every movie is not perfect, I wished this movie had more of the book. For instance, if Smeagol/Gollum would’ve made an appearance it would have made a difference. Also, I was hoping the movie didn’t focus so much on war as it did.  Overall, the movie was great and I highly recommend you to watch it (especially in 3D). Keep in mind, it is the last movie ever from this series.
